CITATION OF PROF. AJAO ADEWALE GBOLABO
Many heroes are unsung, great achievers are also, sometimes, not noticed for the simple reason that they have chosen to live a life of quietness. Ajao Adewale, unarguably belongs to this group of distinguished men and women, who despite their indelible footprints on the sands of time, would prefer not to blow their own trumpets.
For those acquainted with him, Ajao Adewale is variously acknowledged as an academician per excellence; an outstanding researcher, philanthropist and great community mobiliser and developer. Known for his unattained passion for religious, Ajao Adewale is also an Apostle of soul winning, whose work have redeemed countless souls to the Almighty God and caused great havoc to the Devil’s kingdom. He is a credible man who has respect for God and humanity and is also dedicated to public service.
Born in Iwo Osun State on 10th February, 1974, Ajao Adewale attended Akeetan Primary School, Oyo from 1980-1985. He attended Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo from 1985 – 1991 before proceeding for further studies. Ajao Adewale graduated with a B.Sc. ed. Hons Physical and Health Education in 1999 from Lagos State University and M.Ed. (Exercise Physiology) from the same university. He later travel to University of Ibadan where he obtained an M. Phil (Exercise Physiology) (2012) specializing in Rehabilitative exercise and Physical fitness. He traveled out of the country to study another course M.Sc. and PhD on Public and Allied Health specialized on Health Promotion. He has also attended professional courses at the Global Training Consulting in Republic of Benin, Togo, Ghana, Kenya, Gambia, South Africa, and Botswana among other countries.
Ajao Adewale lectured for several years in Physical and Health Education Department at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education. He is also a visiting lecturer and Director of Research and Development, Dean Science and Technology Adonai University Republic of Benin from year 2012 to 2014. presently, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion and Dean/HOD of Public and Allied Health Department, ESEP-LE BERGER University (The Shepherd University Republic of Benin). He has served as official in several sporting activities in Nigerian including the All African Games held in Abuja, Nigeria in 2003 and the recently concluded Eko 2012, held in Lagos State. He was also a consultant to former Governor Gbenga Daniel Administration in Ogun State in 2004 on a programme tagged: Fitness for all Women in Ogun State.
He also engaged nurses in series of workshops where he taught them body measurement and other sundry nursing techniques.
As part of his community services, Ajao Adewale serves as a Zonal Pastor of the Faith Tabernacle Canaanland, Ota-Lagos, Nigeria. His great expertise in monitoring and evaluation has been an asset to Winners Family major mandates of monitoring and Evaluation and coordination of all Poverty, Eradication activities in church.
A man with a passion for community development, Ajao Adewale has been the architect of the fitness programme designed for rural development of the Otto/Ijanikin community in Lagos State.
Of particular note in his philanthropic drive, without any bias for rural community, He has, over the years, committed his personal resources in providing some basic necessities to his people.
Among his honours are the following: 3rd best researcher at 8th All African Games on body measurement, Abuja 2003. He continues to serve as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion and Dean/HOD Public and Allied Health Department, Republic of Benin. Like Jesus, during His earthly ministry, Ajao Adewale has favour with man and God.
A tireless scholar, A consistent Researcher, Ajao Adewale is the co-author of research and health oriented textbooks. He also is the first or second author on over 90 peer-reviewed scholarly articles and has conducted more than 10 scholarly presentations at various locations in Africa. he has conducted workshop for over hundred lecturers on empirical research studies. Presently his is working with Lagos state on a research work tag Biovariability of movements of school age children of Lagos state.
Prof Ajao Adewale is married to Dr (Mrs). Abiola Alaba Ajao and they are blessed with kids
